The state of California, located on the west coast of the u.s., is by far the most polulated state in the nation. There are also a number of California casinos operating within the legal jurisdictions of its Native owned lands. Because they are located on Indian land, a great many California betting houses are situated in out-of-the-way places. When traveling to a California casino, it is a good idea to call ahead and get clearly defined directions.

Almost all California brick and mortar casinos are open 24 hours a day. California casinos are permitted to present electronic gaming machines, twenty-one, and other card games. Unfortunately, the games of craps and roulette are not permitted, but some California casinos offer modified types of these games that are played with cards as an alternative to dice or roulette wheels. Slots, video poker and video keno are the most popular computerized gaming machines you’ll find in California betting houses. A handful of the card games consistently gambled on in California brick and mortar casinos include black jack, baccarat banque, poker (including pai gow, Caribbean stud and three-card poker), Spanish 21, and Let it Ride. Many California betting houses also feature bingo, casino war and OTB (off track wagering) alternatives for gamblers and casual players.

Several California brick and mortar casinos allow overnight camper accommodations for the traveling gambler, so if you’re thinking about a California casino trip you can make quite a few stops and rest a while.
