Empty your pocketbook, your money belt, and keep all money, plastic credit and checkbooks back at the hotel. Grab whatever money you intend to spend on drinks, tipping and whatever pocket change you expect to burn and keep the rest behind.
Cynical? Not at all. Realistic more like. You could experience a win after a boozy evening out with your compatriots and be lucky sufficiently to hit a marathon roll at a smokin craps game. Keep that account because it’s as brief as it gets if you consistently consume alcohol and wager. The pair just don’t mix.
Leaving your moola at home is a bit excessive, but defensive measures for drastic behavior is compulsory. If you play to succeed, then do not drink and gamble. If you can afford to toss aside your assets without a worry, then consume all the complimentary booze your stomach are able to handle, but do not carry credit cards and checks to throw into the mix of following losses after your dead drunk self throws away all the cash!
